Planning Aid Wales is an independent, charitable organisation helping individuals and communities across Wales to participate more effectively in the planning system.
We provide free, independent, and impartial advice and support to people and groups who can not afford to pay a planning consultant. We also encourage people to get involved in the planning system to improve their local environment.

Planning Aid Wales is working to create a fairer and more transparent planning system in which the people of Wales can participate effectively. We are guided by the following values:
- Charitable: We are a charitable, not-for-profit organisation.
- Volunteering: We use our network of professional, fully qualified planning volunteers to provide advice and support.
- Free of charge: We offer our information, advice and support services free of charge to eligible groups and individuals. To see the critieria we use to assess eligibility, click here.
- Independent: The information and advice we provide is impartial.
- Improving understanding: We work with people to develop the knowledge and skills they need to engage more effectively with the planning system.

Planning Aid Wales services are provided by a small staff team, working with our Wales-wide network of dedicated planning and community volunteers, and all overseen by a Board of Directors. We are independent of local authorities and central government, and rely on grant funding and donations from the public to provide our services.
