Volunteers

Planning Aid Wales was founded on the efforts of volunteer planners who gave their time and professional knowledge to help members of the public understand and get involved in the planning system. Today, volunteers still assist members of the public, but they also provide support across the range of our other activities, including delivering training and writing guidance publications.

We currently have sixty or so volunteers working all over Wales. The majority of our volunteers are experienced and qualified planners. The volunteer network has grown over recent years and we will continue to develop the network to embrace other sectors and achieve better coverage of Wales, particularly in rural areas. We also now accept non-planner volunteers, to offer a range of other skills such as community development, marketing, training and fundraising.
