What is planning?
Planning is the system which manages the use and development of all land. This includes new housing, schools, factories and most other purposes.
The planning system aims to manage new development for the benefit of society. It has to balance the need for things like new houses with the need to protect the best of our environment. The idea is to create better places for people to live, work and relax in.
You have a right to have your say in planning for the future of your community.
How we can help
Planning Aid Wales is an independent registered charity. We provide free, professional and impartial advice and support on all aspects of land use planning in Wales. We do this by using a Wales-wide network of volunteers.
We help individuals and groups who can not afford a planning consultant, and who will not profit financially from our assistance.
We also provide workshops, seminars and training for community and voluntary groups who want to get more involved in planning for their area.
