Planning training and resources for community and town councils
26 Aug 2008Planning Aid Wales is currently preparing a comprehensive suite of planning training materials for community and town councils, grant-funded by the Welsh Assembly Government. The materials will include four 'action packs' that contain all the instructions and resources needed for councils to run their own training sessions on key aspects of local planning.
Before publishing the action packs, we are looking for councils who would be willing to help trial them in the autumn. This is your council’s chance to have a high quality training session with a Planning Aid Wales facilitator for free. If you are interested, please contact Marika Fusser on 01286 882 834 or e-mail by 12th December 2008. If there is more than one applicant per pack, names will be drawn out of a hat.
You can choose between four themed packs:
- Improving liaison and communication with your local planning authority
- Making an effective contribution to Local Development Plan preparation
- Making effective comments on planning applications
- Securing local needs affordable housing in rural areas
Once complete, most of the training materials will be available as free downloads from the dedicated community and town council section of our website.
