Planning Aid Wales support for Place Plans
Place Plans are the single best tool communities can use to shape planning in their area. Prepared by Town and Community Councils, they allow communities to set out their priorities and needs in relation to land use planning matters. They bring together local knowledge, evidence and ambition into something practical—something that can influence decisions, attract funding and guide real projects. This is great placemaking in practice.
Across Wales, Place Plans are already helping communities to influence development, secure investment and deliver change on the ground. They provide a clear, credible voice—one that planners, funders and partners can engage with.

If you’re thinking about creating a Place Plan—or moving from a plan to real projects—our guidance below can help.
